So, what is this whole “MOPS” thing?

MOPS stands for “mothers of preschoolers” – but don’t let that confuse you. MOPS is about meeting the needs of every mom of a child from conception through kindergarten. Whether you’re urban, suburban, rural, stay-at-home, working, teen, adoptive, special-needs, single or married, MOPS is for you!

Being moms is what brings us together and allows us to build a community. The early years of being a mom are just as foundational to you as they are to your baby, and those years are filled with unique needs that other moms instinctively understand.MOPS is a place where moms can come to be encouraged and supported by other moms who are in the very same season of life…and best of all, to make some great friends!  You do not have to be a “church-goer” or a specific denomination to join us.

So what are you waiting for? Come join us and be welcomed into a community of mom friends!

All meetings take place in our Family Life Center. If you would like to join us for any of the remaining meetings, we would love to have you. This summer, we will have play group opportunities and a great kickoff even to register for the fall semester. There will be a registration fee for the fall.

About MOPS

MOPS is a ministry to Mothers of Preschoolers in the Ennis Community. Our MOPS group meets at Tabernacle every 1st and 3rd Friday morning from 9:30 – 11:30 am, during regular school semesters. At MOPS, we create a space for you to fellowship with other moms and give and receive caring through small groups. You’ll also hear teaching from a biblical perspective, and enjoy crafts while your children are cared for in the MOPPETS childcare program. We provide teaching about womanhood, marriage, and family, presented by women experienced in rearing children as well as by professionals from related fields.

Basic Principles of a MOPS Group

Welcoming to all Women

We’ve all been placed in this time and place in history, as the tribe of women who are raising the world. And the beauty of it is that we don’t all have to agree with one another but everyone is in and we all need each other.

Sometimes we need a wise woman who has been there and done that to bounce ideas off of. That’s why we love our MOPS Mentors, they have sage advice and willing ears.

Leadership Development

You have the ability to do big things. We want to help you gain the confidence to use your voice to change your world.

Honest Conversation

Real talk is liberating. It frees us from assumptions that we are alone in our struggles. We value taking a risk and sharing your story in order to heal someone else from their isolation.

Relevant Teaching

Really, who needs another tutorial on how to make crepe paper flowers? What we provide is mommy friends who get you, hope-filled insight, and speakers who know we’ve only had three hours of uninterrupted sleep last night so they better keep it interesting.

Creative Activities

Sometimes we need a wise woman who has been there and done that to bounce ideas off of. That’s why we love our MOPS Mentors, they have sage advice and willing ears.

Look, we all love our kids, but let’s be honest: a little break now and then makes us want to be with them even more. We provide a preschool-style experience for your kiddos that they will love going back to.
