LifeGroup Guide

Church Vision Statement

We are a biblically rooted church that wants to help you overcome life’s emptiness through a deeper relationship with Christ and a connection to a family who cares.

  • What would have been the perfect Father’s Day gift you could have given to your dad as a kid?
    • “Dad, I know it’s 110 degrees but I would love to go fishing all day without snacks and I will not complain once.”

Read: 1 Peter 4:7-11

7 The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers. 8 Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. 9 Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. 10 As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: 11 whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God

may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Looking Forward:

  • Hangout nights are a great time to invite lost people as well as re-engage people from your group that may have gotten out of the habit of coming to LifeGroup. Discuss what you will do for this month’s hangout night.

Transformation Questions:

  • The idea behind the word translated earnestly is unwavering and intense. Why would Peter want us to love in an intense and unwavering way?
  • What does it mean to be sober-minded and self-controlled?
  • Give a situation when you had tunnel vision on a problem or pain in your life and you struggled to control your thoughts and response. How did that negatively affect you and the others around you? Did God put anyone in your life that was sober-mined and self-controlled? How did they help to pull you out of the pit of despair?
  • Have you noticed where you were not able to love and minister to someone in suffering because you were all wrapped up in your own issues?
  • When you have a healthy prayer life, how does that positively affect the times in your life when problems occur or someone needs to be loved? Do you feel like you are more equipped for those moments, if so how?
  • How well do you think you do at being hospitable?
  • Why is being hospitable important as a Christian?
  • If you have never hosted Lifegroup at your house do you think that is something you would be willing to do?
  • How have you seen or experienced someone’s hospitality be used as a tool of ministry by God?
