Church Vision Statement

We are a biblically rooted church that wants to help you overcome life’s emptiness through a deeper relationship with Christ and a connection to a family who cares.

Read: Ephesians 3:14-21

14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father,

15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name,

16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man,

17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love,

18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,

19 and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.

20 Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us,

21 to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.

Transformation Questions:

  • On a scale of 1-10 how healthy do you think your prayer life is?
  • Why do you think that it is healthy and why do you think it is unhealthy?
  • Paul says that he kneels in prayer. Have you ever thought about what your posture in prayer says? Do you feel like your prayer posture is important?
    • The posture of Paul’s prayer is to show humility. The Bible does not prescribe a specific posture of prayer. We actually see people doing many different things like raising their eyes to heaven or bowing their heads.
  • What does it mean to humble yourself before God in prayer or how do you humble yourself before God in prayer?
  • Would you say that you dwell with Christ daily or is he more like Pastor Todd’s description of a roommate you occasionally pass in the hallway, but are inactive in His life?
  • Paul talks about inner strength that only comes from dwelling with Christ. When you are consistently spending time with Christ, do you feel the inner strength that Paul is talking about? How would you describe the inner strength and how it affects your life?
  • The passage ends with verse 20, “ Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us.” What are things you have hesitated to pray about because you did not feel like it was something you wanted to trouble God with?
  • Does verse 20 promise He will do all that you pray for? How have you seen God outdo your prayers in such a way that all you could say is, “God has done abundantly more than I could think or even imagine?”
  • What is on your heart that you want to see God do through you this year?
  • Spend time in prayer asking that God would make his presence manifest in our lives.
    • This might feel odd, but my mind goes to the passage where Jesus says that, “You have not because you ask not.” The most important thing we need right now isn’t money or food it is the presence of God being made known in our lives.
