In 2021, Tabernacle’s Senior Pastor Todd Gray accepted a ministry call to a new church and, after 10 years, left his role as the shepherd of Tabernacle.
The Personnel Committee is in process of conducting a pastoral search to identify the next Sr. Pastor of Tabernacle.
Interim Executive Pastor
Scotty Sanders began serving Tabernacle Baptist Church in March 2020 as an executive consultant. He has been leading organizations for 30 years, initially founding and serving as CEO for a multi-million-dollar business and then spending 20 years serving in executive and administrative pastor roles for two megachurches.
Scotty has worked with hundreds of pastors and consulted with churches nationally and internationally. His expertise includes most aspects of church life, leadership development, strategic planning, creating an environment of excellence, building a volunteer base and connecting people to the body. He is also an author of four books, countless articles, and has spoken to audiences worldwide.
Brandon has been the Worship Pastor at Tabernacle since January 2013. He married Karen Thompson, an MK from Ecuador, on August 5, 2000. The Hixsons have two beautiful children, Caleb and Caylin.
His passion is to cultivate relationships with people by connecting with them through music and worship. Brandon loves leading worship, writing and arrangement music, playing the saxophone, recording and engineering music and hanging out with his family. Brandon also loves cheesy 80′s music, jumping on the trampoline with Caleb and eating pizza!

Kody Alvarez has been on staff at Tabernacle since 2015. He is married to Jordan and they have one daughter Eliana (Ellie). Kody earned a bachelor’s degree and received his Master’s of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is currently pursuing a doctorate degree in biblical theology from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
He has served as a youth pastor, church planter, and has preached several revivals in and out of the country. He has served in many other areas that involve evangelizing, coordinating camps, and student ministry leadership. He has served in ministry for more than 10 years. Matheus T. Oliveira has been our Student Minister since 2018. Matheus was raised in Brazil and has a bachelor’s degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and is working on his Adv. Masters on Christian Education Focused on Family. He has served churches in Brazil, U.S. and Canada of which he carried out duties such as media director, church planter, and worship leader. He has served in many other areas that involve evangelizing, coordinating camps, and student ministry leadership.
Carlos Gerke has served the youth and worship ministries at Tabernacle since 2019. He was born and raised in Brazil, where he started his work in ministry in 2017. Throughout the years, he has served in several mission trips, worship ministry, and prayer ministry.
He received his degree as a dental surgeon in 2017, but later was called to ministry full-time. Carlos is currently working on a master’s degree in ministry. His desire is to equip a whole generation to make difference in this world for the glory of God. He is married to Joy, and together, they love going to the beach.
Senior Adult Minister
Bob served as a hospice pastor for 10 years when he developed a love for senior adults. He was able to create and conduct regular Bible studies in the nursing homes he ministered to. Bob also served as a pastor for eight years where he honed his preaching, pastoral counseling, grief counseling and visitation skills. While serving as a funeral director for nine years, Bob used his pastoral skills in helping support families during great times of loss and heartache. He has also been involved in church planting, all areas of ministry and has performed many weddings.
Alicia Glenn and her family have been members at Tabernacle for 17 years. She has served in all areas of children ministry and has been on staff as the Preschool Minister since 2016. Prior to being on staff she has worked in Human Resources, management and recruiting in the heart of Downtown Dallas. Alicia has a heart for children of all ages and loves to see parents winning at discipling. Every single child is created in the image of God and loved by Him!
She and Shawn have been married for 25 years and blessed with four children: Austin, Ashley, Colby, Erin and our daughter-in-law Amber. Almost empty nesters, they share a passion for three things: faith, family and friends. Currently, Shawn serves in the Youth Ministry and they host the seventh & eighth graders small group in their home on Sunday nights.
Angela Nelson has worked several years as a teacher in the weekday program at Tabernacle and became the Weekday Director in January 2021. Angela has been leading and working in ministry/childcare for more than 20 years and brings a diverse background into her new role.
Angela and Rick have been married for 22 years. They are blessed to have three adult sons and four grandchildren. Angela is otherwise known as Mimi and loves every minute. You can often find her crafting, napping, spending time with family, organizing or eating Mexican food.
Children's Ministry Associate
Katrina Largent and her family have been members at Tabernacle since 2017. She and Josh has been married for 15 years and were blessed with three amazing children – Emma, Kaylinn and Jacob. She currently serves in Kids Town on the preschool side every Sunday morning to make sure everything is running smoothly and to equip leaders with everything they need.
Katrina has spent many years serving the community through helping families with special needs and getting them connected to each other and helping them feel like they are not alone. This is very close to her heart because her daughter, Emma, has special needs. But they do not let this slow her or her family down or keep them from doing stuff. Katrina loves children, spending time with her family, sewing and reading.
Children's Ministry Associate
Melissa Oliveira has been volunteering at Tabernacle since 2019, both as an intern for the youth and assisting with children’s ministry. Melissa is working on her bachelor’s degree in communications and plans to work in ministry as a missionary.
She has served in churches in North Dallas, Brazil and Italy, where she served in both youth and kids ministry, and as a teacher for English as a second language.
Tammy Gray has been serving as the financial administrator at Tabernacle Baptist Church since 2018. Along with the church finances, she also manages human resources and facility maintenance. Tammy has an undergraduate and master’s degree in engineering as well as an MBA with a financial management focus.
In addition to her work at the church, Tammy is a published author of 11 Christian novels. Her modern and true-to-life contemporary romances include 2017 RITA award-winning My Hope Next Door and show her unending quest to write redemption stories that illustrate the relentless love of Christ.
Tammy and her husband Todd have three amazing children, Isaac, Autumn and Christian, and have been ministering at Tabernacle for more than nine years.
Office Administrative Assistant
Tayler Price has served as our church receptionist since 2012. She is married to Luke and they have three children, Lilli, Brenden and Blakley. Drop by the church office and meet Tayler. Her friendly personality and helpful attitude will be a blessing to you. Tayler loves camping, reading, playing with her kids and solving our office logistics.
Administrative Assistant to the Pastor
Jill has worked at Tabernacle since 1992. She is married to Joe and they have two daughters. Jill works in the pastor’s office as his administrative assistant, where she is a vital part of media, visioning and pastoral care. Jose Campos has overseen Facility Maintenance at Tabernacle since 2018. Jose is a master of many trades, bringing 25 years of experience to faithfully maintain and beautify the buildings on our campus.
Jose is married to his lovely wife, Irma, and they have four children: Angelica, Anna, Jose Jr. and Ariana. They have been members at Tabernacle for 27 years.
